Learn about Hawaii’s growing manufacturing industry and its wide range of job opportunities by touring leading local manufacturers on Friday, Oct. 5. In celebration of Manufacturing Day 2018, manufacturers throughout the state will open their doors to the public as part of an effort to show how today’s manufacturing environment has changed and highlight the opportunities that a career in manufacturing can provide.

Manufacturing Day is an annual national event, celebrated in Hawaii with support by local manufacturers, the Hawaii Technology Development Corporation (HTDC) INNOVATE Hawaii, the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii, the state’s Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism, and the NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) National Network.

The tours are open to the public, students, teachers, parents, job seekers and other local community members, Manufacturing Day 2018 is for you! Don’t miss open houses, plant tours and presentations designed to showcase modern manufacturing technology and careers.

Created by the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association International (FMA) in 2012, Manufacturing Day has enjoyed support from many organizations aligned with its mission of positively changing the public perception of modern manufacturing. Organizations that have played a vital role in working with FMA to successfully grow this national celebration of all things manufacturing include the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the Manufacturing Institute (MI), and the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP). Manufacturing Day is now produced annually by NAM with key contributions and support from MEP and MI.
