What: The state’s Hawaii Strategic Development Corporation (HSDC) and Sultan Ventures will be hosting the 4th Annual Hawaii VC Summit to discuss “Startup Paradise,” Hawaii’s entrepreneurial “high growth” community that is a cornerstone of our innovation ecosystem. The conference joins members of the entrepreneurial, investor and venture capital (VC) communities in Hawaii and the mainland with other stakeholders for discussions on how to grow the state’s innovation ecosystem by developing entrepreneurs, commercializing research and mobilizing investment capital.

The event will feature:

  • Keynote speaker – Don Dodge, an advisor to Google Ventures and a startup evangelist, who will discuss VC industry trends and their impact on the startup ecosystem, particularly in Hawaii
  • Crowdfunding Workshop led by thecrowdcafe.com Founder Jonathan Sundland
  • Panel discussions about Hawaii’s “Startup Paradise” ecosystem
  • Case studies on recent financing methods used by Hawaii companies
  • Startup Paradise Demo Day with investor pitches by Blue Startups and Energy Excelerator companies
  • Breakfast, lunch and pau hana networking reception
