Monthly Economic Indicators
These monthly reports contain data on labor force and unemployment, wage and salary jobs, general fund tax revenue, building permits, single-family and condo resales, and visitor arrivals.
Monthly Economic Indicators (MEI) through February 2026 was released on April 8, 2026, including the BLS/DBEDT-LRB Benchmark LAUS and Jobs data and data for January 2026. It was updated on April 16th with the BLS/DBEDT-LRB seasonally-adjusted Honolulu and Maui LAUS data for January 2026. Due to the federal shutdown and delayed data releases, there are no Kauai building permit data for February. Most of the BLS/DBEDT-LRB data for February will be released on April 22nd, and the BLS/DBEDT-LRB seasonally-adjusted Honolulu and Maui LAUS data for February 2026 will be released on April 29th.
Monthly Economic Indicators (MEI) through March 2026 will be released on/about May 6th and will include the BLS/DBEDT-LRB LAUS and Jobs data for March and the seasonally-adjusted Honolulu and Maui LAUS data for February 2026, and the Kauai building permits for February and March. The BLS/DBEDT-LRB seasonally-adjusted Honolulu and Maui LAUS data for March 2026 will be released on May 19th.
