E. Construction

This section contains tables reporting the value of building permits issued, including total figures and breakdowns by the types of construction activity: residential, commercial, and additions and alterations. The data are sourced from the counties’ building permit offices and the U.S. Census Bureau.

Kauai County discontinued the public release of building permit data in 2021.  Therefore, data for that county are sourced from the U.S. Census Bureau’s building permit survey, and only residential data are available for this county.
