F. Business and Production

Sources for statistics on these subjects include the Hawaii State Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism (DBEDT), Research & Economic Analysis (READ), Labor Research Branch. and the U.S. Census Bureau’s annual publication County Business Patterns. The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) is an important source for data on agriculture as part of the personal income series. As indicated in the Introduction, BEA discontinued compilation and release of the cash receipts from marketings data, on November 14, 2024 for the counties and on September 27, 2024 for the state. The farm earnings data were not affected.

Agricultural data for earlier years are summarized in Historical Statistics of Hawaii, Section 13, and Sections 22 and 23 provide information for business in earlier periods.
