G. Utilities
This section presents statistics on water consumption, electricity sales, and gas sales across the State of Hawaii and its four counties. Water usage is reported in millions of gallons, while electricity sales are measured in millions of kilowatt-hours and gas sales in thousands of therms.
The data presented in these tables are compiled from the records and reports of several municipal and state agencies, including the Board of Water Supply of the City and County of Honolulu, the departments of water supply for the counties of Hawaii, Kauai, and Maui, and the Division of Consumer Advocacy within the Hawaii State Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs. Additional information is sourced from monthly financial reports issued by the state’s utility providers: Hawaiian Electric Company, Maui Electric Company, Hawaii Electric Light Company, and the Kauai Island Utility Cooperative.
