State Invites Input at Statewide Information Sharing Sessions for the Hawaii Ocean Resources Management Plan Update August 19-22 and 26-29, 2019

HONOLULU—The State of Hawaii Office of Planning (OP) Coastal Zone Management (CZM) Program is pleased to announce a series of statewide Information Sharing Sessions to inform the update of the Hawaii Ocean Resources Management Plan (ORMP). The Plan is based on the connections between land and sea and the balance between human activities and a healthy environment. The public is invited to learn about the Plan and contribute to its update process.
The meetings will provide opportunities for attendees to share their perspectives on coastal issues, both local and statewide. Following the statewide Information Sharing Sessions, public input will be shared with federal, state, and county stakeholders for collaborative work on selected focus areas. All meetings will present the same information and planning participation opportunities.
The Information Sharing Sessions will be held on the following dates:

Public involvement will help to keep the Ocean Resources Management Plan priorities timely and relevant. If you cannot participate in-person but would like to contribute to the plan update, please visit https://planning.hawaii.gov/czm/ormp for more information, an on-line survey, and comment opportunities.
Input from the Information Sharing Sessions will also be used to inform a portion of the Hawaii CZM Program’s Section 309 Assessment and Strategy for FY 2021-2025.

About the State Office of Planning
The Office of Planning is a state agency, attached to the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT), that gathers, analyzes and provides information to the governor to assist in the overall analysis and formulation of state policies and strategies.
