Hawaii Housing Finance & Development Corp. — Gov. David Ige joined Hawaii Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark Recktenwald and officials from the Kobayashi Group at today’s grand opening ceremony for the mixed-use Hale Kalele project.

According to a report released today by DBEDT of Hawaii businesses and employees, an estimated 198,224 (42.4%) private sector payroll employees were working remotely as of August 31, 2021.

According to preliminary visitor statistics released by DBEDT total spending by visitors who came to the islands in March 2022 was $1.53 billion, which was higher compared to the $1.49 billion (+2.5%) reported for March 2019.

DBEDT today announced that the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for March was 4.1 percent, compared to the revised rate of 4.2 percent in February.

According to preliminary visitor statistics released by DBEDT, total spending by visitors who came to the islands in February 2022 was $1.31 billion, compared to $397.1 million (+229.9%) spent in February 2021.
