Host Housing Support Program
Aloha Participating Property Owners of HHFDC’s Hawaiʻi Fire Relief Housing Program,
Thank you again for agreeing to offer your properties to Maui residents displaced by the recent fires.
We want to make sure you are aware of the new Host Housing Support Program that’s being established by the nonprofit Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement and Maui County with funding from the American Red Cross and the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation.
Homeowners statewide who are “host families” to wildfire evacuees may receive financial assistance of up to $375 per person per month that they assist, up to $1,500 each month per host.
Eligible homeowners can find out more about the program and submit their applications through the CNHA website here: https://www.hawaiiancouncil.org/
Applicants do not need to be of Native Hawaiian descent to apply for the program.
(NOTE: This program is not affiliated with HHFDC’s Hawaiʻi Fire Relief Housing Program so property owners who are assisting displaced residents but are not part of the HHFDC program may be eligible.)
Mahalo again for your kokua.
