Dane K. Wicker is a dedicated public servant and community leader with a strong commitment to improving the quality of life in Hawaii. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 18, 1982, Mr. Wicker’s journey has been marked by a series of significant contributions to both the public sector and local community development.

Dane K. Wicker’s roots are firmly planted in Hawaii, where he attended Kahuku Intermediate and High School, graduating in June 2000. He then pursued his passion for politics and community service by earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Hawaii at West Oahu in 2010.

After completing his education, Mr. Wicker began his career in public service. He started as an intern with a Councilmember, who later went on to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives. This early experience ignited his interest in politics, leading him to Washington, D.C., where he served as a Legislative Aide to a Congressmember.

In 2011, Dane K. Wicker returned to Hawaii to join the office of Hawaii State Senator Donovan M. Dela Cruz, who was the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means. Mr. Wicker’s dedication to his work and keen understanding of fiscal matters made him an invaluable asset in the State Capitol.

In 2017, Mr. Wicker took on the pivotal role of Committee Clerk for the Senate Committee on Ways and Means, where he led a dedicated team responsible for preparing the State’s budget and managing legislation related to fiscal matters. His meticulous work and leadership played a crucial role in shaping the state’s financial policies.

Beyond his public service roles, Dane K. Wicker has been actively engaged in the community. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Filipino Community Center, demonstrating his commitment to Hawaii’s diverse and vibrant communities. He has also held leadership positions in political organizations, including serving as the Young Democrats of Hawaii National Committeeman from 2014 to 2016 and as Democratic Party of Hawaii Secretary for his precinct. Moreover, his service on the Board of Directors for Ho’ōla Nā Pua reflects his dedication to advocating for the well-being of vulnerable individuals in Hawaii.

Mr. Wicker’s talents and interests extend beyond public service. He is a multifaceted individual who is also an accomplished small business owner. He has founded a retail business, a consulting service, and a farming venture focused on growing and manufacturing value-added agricultural products. This entrepreneurial spirit, coupled with his educational pursuits, showcases his versatility and determination to make a positive impact in various sectors.

Currently, Mr. Wicker is furthering his knowledge in the field of planning studies, pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Planning Studies at the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
