Overview

How to Apply Graphic

01

Contact a Participating Lender

A participating lender will review your eligibility requirements, pre-qualify you, and begin the official loan application process. For a current list of approved institutions, visit our Participating Lenders page.

02

Complete Homebuyer Education

Contact a HUD-Certified Housing Counseling Agency to complete your required homebuyer education course. To view eligible counseling operations, visit the this Homebuyer Education site.

03

Find a Home

Work closely with a licensed real estate agency to search for eligible properties. Once you find a home, your real estate agent will formally submit an offer. A directory of licensed agents is available here: Real Estate Agents.

04

Move Forward with the Loan Process

After your realtor confirms that your purchase offer has been officially accepted, your lender will step in to reserve loan funds directly from the program. Continue cooperating with your lender to secure the final mortgage approvals and prepare your closing.

05

Close the Loan

Collaborate with your lender to execute the final signing and close out the loan. Your lender will formally close out the load once all required documents are submitted.
