PART OF KOLOWALU DOG PARK CLOSED FOR FOUR WEEKS
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 5, 2025
HONOLULU – Kolowalu Large Dog Park will be closed for maintenance and lawn treatment, from May 12 through June 9.
After several incidents of vandalism to the irrigation system that affected both the large and small dog sections of the park, the Hawai‘i Community Development Authority (HCDA) is temporarily closing the large dog park.
During the closure, work will entail further rehabilitation of the lawn, additional repairs to the irrigation system and installation of paver stones to prevent muddy conditions at the entrance, where the highest foot traffic occurs.
To prevent trip hazards, additional pavers will be used in other high-traffic areas and spots where dog digging occurs.
