Making Home Affordable
Delivering Mortgage Relief
The Making Home Affordable Program® (MHA) is a critical part of the Administration’s broad strategy to help homeowners avoid foreclosure, stabilize the country’s housing market, and improve the nation’s economy.
Learn about your Options
Homeowners can lower their monthly mortgage payments and get into more stable loans at today’s low rates. And for those homeowners for whom homeownership is no longer affordable or desirable, the program can provide a way out that avoids foreclosure. Additionally, there are options for unemployed homeowners and homeowners who owe more than their homes are worth.
Get FREE advice from a Housing Expert
There is no charge to work with a HUD-approved counselor who will talk to you about your situation and help you decide what options are best for you. They will explain what documents you will need to provide to your mortgage company and may be able to contact the mortgage company on your behalf. A housing counselor can also help you make a budget that will show you how to meet your monthly mortgage payment and other expenses.
