Waikoloa Family Affordable (West Hawaiʻi)

Locations LLC, the management company for the planned Waikoloa Family Affordable rental housing development in West Hawaiʻi began accepting tenant applications in late February 2023.

The 110-unit townhome complex, located at 68-3911 Makana Kai Drive, will serve qualifying families earning annual incomes of 30% and 60% of area median income (AMI). Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent resident aliens and must occupy their units as their primary residences.

Units will include their own air conditioning units, solar water heaters, storage area and energy efficient refrigerators and other appliances.

Common area amenities include one parking stall per unit, an area community center, swimming pool and golf course.

The project received HHFDC assistance through its Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), Rental Housing Revolving Fund (RHRF) and Hula Mae Multi-Family (HMMF) Tax-Exempt Bond programs.

Applications are due by March 31, 2023, with applicants to be evaluated on a first come, first serve basis. Chosen applicants are tentatively expected to move in later this Spring.
